We headed out for a family Friday afternoon lunch, intending to go to our favourite, The Honest Italian. Sadly, we didn't realise that it isn't open for lunch on weekdays. So there we were on the pavement (sidewalk to us Americans) at 11:45, hungry, trying to figure out where to go. About a block away was a place we'd never tried, called The Chicken Shop.
The menu is simple - that's the whole of the food menu on the chalkboard.
The drinks menu was on a table card - double sided, with beers on the back of what you see here.
We opted for a small jug of the decent white wine, to share.
It wasn't bad, and I didn't have any way to confirm their measurements, obviously, but it didn't seem to be a very full jug.
Overall, we enjoyed it, and the service was very attentive. (Please don't mind the cheeseball smile here from a guy who NEVER shows his teeth in pictures. I mean EVER!)
Chris and Georgia and I shared a whole chicken and a side of coleslaw and fries - this is my plate. I felt the portions were quite generous.
The little girls had yummy hamburgers.
(Trying to photograph the restaurant and Sophia tried to be in the pic)
I think we'll definitely be back.
