A Weekend in Cornwall

We hadn't really planned on travelling again quite so soon after our big trip to Bosnia and Croatia, but the opportunity to go to Cornwall was just too good to pass up! Some friends have a house in Rock, Cornwall and invites us to use it. So we got up early and drove the four hours to the coast of England and all I can say is - Wow!
Cornwall is stunning. And we had such a terrific time.
This is the view from the home where we stayed.
On the patio of the pub in Rock. We stopped in to enjoy fried pickles and was ch the Grand National on the telly.
We also sampled the local beer - Sharp's Doombar.
We drove to nearby Polzeath for some fun riding the waves. It being a bit chilly, I read on the beach and left that foolishness to Chris and the girls! They rented wet suits and braved the chill.

Did I tell you how gorgeous Cornwall is?

We took a drive through some truly beautiful countryside and ended up in Port Isaac, a quaint little village where they film the British television show, Doc Martin.
And had a lunch that was so good!
Before leaving Port Isaac, I stopped into a seafood market and bought a lobster for our dinner that was caught that very morning. And we dined, decadently, on lobster salads for dinner!
The girls headed out the next day for more body boarding.
Every time we went to a restaurant, Sophia ordered mussels for her meal. She probably ate them 6 times during this trip!
I loved this sign on the road heading to the house.

I fell in love with Cornwall - we will definitely go back there!
